How to Fix WordPress Fatal Error: Allowed Memory Size of xxx Bytes Exhausted (Quick Fix)

This article is designed for WordPress fatal error which is “Allowed Memory Size of  40000 Bytes Exhausted”.  The reason is, your memory cannot handle your requests anymore. Because it will try to decrease resources. By the way, after you do following steps, you will be able to fix it instantly. Everything I write here was experienced by me. This is one of errors I found on my error_log. However, let’s see how to fix it easily in minutes.

For this,

  • you have to login into the Cpanel of your website first.
  • Then you have to find file manager, click on it and and click on go button.
  • Now, here you have to find the directory in which you have installed WordPress. (Common directory is public_html->your directory).
  • After finding your WordPress installed directory, click on wp-includes.
  • Then find a file which is named as Default_Constants.php.
  • To open this, right click on it and select edit option. Then you will be redirected to the code editor.
  • Then search for ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’40M’.
  • After finding it, change it to ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘128M’.
  • Then, click on save and click on close and now check outside.
  • Now your error will be gone with above steps.
